Report on four cases of the rarest benign splenic tumor - myoid angioendothelioma, with literature review

Introduction. Myoid angioendothelioma of the spleen is an extremely rare form a benign splenic tumor. There no characteristic symptomatology for this disease. Case outline. We present four patients operated on myoid spleen. Three were without problems while one had nonspecific problems. Two underwent laparoscopic surgery and two open splenectomy. In all patients, definitive diagnosis was confirmed by histopathological examination. By reviewing aforementioned medical databases published papers in English, we found total eight cases addition to mentioned number, have added our series cases. Conclusion. Twenty-one years after discovery spleen, small number presented literature still limiting factor making conclusions learning lessons about disease
